What is e-counseling?

Most people need help at some point in their lives. Individual therapy and counseling are the traditional methods of getting assistance. E-counseling provides similar services using emails in a manner that's private, affordable, efficient, and fast. These counseling services do not replace existing therapy or medical treatments, and diagnoses cannot be made over the internet.

The results you get depend on your investment of time and energy. This requires your personal commitment and a willingness to look honestly at your issues, just as in other forms of therapy.

What kind of questions can I ask?

With the privacy of e-counseling, any question of a non-medical nature can be asked. The most frequent questions we get are regarding relationships. Other popular questions people send are about low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, sadness, conflicts, improving communication, coping with loneliness, and more. All questions lead to understanding yourself better so your relationship with others improves.

How do I ask a question?

Once you decide on which counseling service to use, go to the Counseling Services page and select that service. You'll get the counseling request form, with  instructions on  how to submit it.

We recommend you take the time to present your situation clearly, including as much detail as you can. Look carefully at what you write and add any missing pieces before submitting it. What kind of a response will I get?

The length of the response depends on the service you want. Counseling time is based on the time it takes to read what you write plus the time it takes write back to you. Our responses are detailed and focus on what you can change to make healthier decisions. 

All counseling responses are provided in a professional, non-judgmental manner. We provide you with new information and tools to bring positive changes to situations you're currently being challenged with.

How do I choose the type of counseling service I want?

Latest Online Counseling offers four kinds of services. Each service has different counseling times from 15 minutes to 2 hours. The Counseling Services page provides detailed information about each of those services and can help you pick the type of counseling you want. How can I be guaranteed my questions will remain private?

We use the ethical guidelines of the American Psychological Association to maintain the strictest confidentiality. All names and personal information are never given to other parties for any other use, including marketing and promotional purposes. The only information you need to provide us with is your email address and your situation. 

When you submit your counseling question to us it's electronically sent to a secured area, from where it's immediately retrieved. After you end your session, your account is closed and all information is removed from our computer system. No information is stored. 

We guarantee that the only person to see your e-counseling question is the counselor who responds to you.

What kind of payment do you accept?

You can make your payment through PayPal by using your Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discovery cards, or your Paypal or bank account. By using Paypal, you truly can remain anonymous, as we never see your credit card number. Using Paypal is free and signing up for an account is optional..

I don't like to give my credit card information over the internet. What do I do?

Using your credit card information over the internet can be safer than using your card over the phone, or in person, as long as the credit card information is given through a secured credit card processor. We guarantee that all of our credit card billing is handled by a secure server, through PayPal.com, which uses the latest in encryption technology. 

If you'd prefer alternate billing arrangements, please email our billing department to discuss other options. You can also arrange to submit your credit card number over the phone by using our confidential secure voice mail.

How much will this cost me?

E-counseling fees range from $20 for 15 minutes to $100 for 2 hours of counseling. These fees are described in detail on the Counseling Services page. You can choose the counseling service that best suits your individual needs.

How long will it take for me to get my answer?

You will get an answer to your counseling request within 48 hours, but frequently you will get a response the same day. Nine times out of ten we significantly beat the guaranteed response time.
